Multilingual Employee Surveys: How to Run Engagement Surveys in Any Language

Two weeks ago, a long-time client came to us with a request that seemed simple at first.

They were running an employee engagement survey across their organization — a team spread across multiple countries, multiple time zones, and multiple languages. The survey was ready. The questions were solid. But before they hit send, they paused.

"Can we translate the questions? Some of our team members aren't native English speakers and we want to be respectful of that."

It wasn't a feature request in the usual sense. It wasn't "we want a dashboard" or "can you add a filter." It was something more fundamental: they wanted their people to feel considered. They wanted the survey itself to say "we thought about you" before anyone even read the first question.

Why it matters more than you'd think

Here's what most survey platforms get wrong about language. They treat it as a formatting problem — swap the text, keep the structure, done. But language isn't formatting. It's how people think.

When someone reads a question in their second language, they process it differently. They translate mentally before they respond. They default to simpler answers because nuance is harder in a language you're still navigating. And on sensitive topics — leadership, stress, whether they feel safe speaking up — they'll write what's easy to express, not what they actually mean.

The result? You get cleaner-looking data that tells you less. Polite answers instead of real ones.

Our client understood this intuitively. Their concern wasn't technical — it was relational. Sending a survey in only English to a team where half the people think in French or Portuguese or Ukrainian isn't just inconvenient. It's a signal that says: this was designed for some of you, and the rest of you can figure it out.

That's not how you get honest feedback.

What we built

We added multilingual survey support to Org360. Before you send a survey, you can now translate every question into the language your respondents are most comfortable with. They receive the survey in their language, respond in their language, and every response flows back into a single unified report.

No separate surveys. No manual merging. No fragmented data. One survey, multiple languages, one report.

We launched with French, Dutch, Portuguese, German, Ukrainian and Spanish, alongside English. Korean followed, so there are now 8 languages in total: English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Dutch, Ukrainian and Korean.

And if your team needs a language that's not on the list yet, tell us. We'll add it. That's not a placeholder promise — it's how this feature got built in the first place. A client asked, we listened, and now it exists for everyone.

The detail that matters most

When we designed this, we made a deliberate choice. The translations aren't locked in — you can review and edit every translated question before the survey goes live. Because automated translation is good but it's not perfect, and you know your audience better than any algorithm does. If a phrase sounds too formal for your team culture, or too casual for your context, you change it. The survey goes out sounding like it was written for your people, because it was.

Twelve days from request to delivery

Our client asked for this on August 20th. By September 1st, it was live — not just for them, but for every Org360 user.

That's how we want to build. A real need from a real organization, turned into a feature that everyone benefits from, in under two weeks. No roadmap committee. No "we'll consider it for Q3." Someone needed it, it made the product better for everyone, so we built it.

Why this fits what Org360 is about

We've always believed that organizational assessment shouldn't be locked behind enterprise budgets. That's why your first survey is free, a single survey costs $49, and plans start at $250 a year. But affordability is only half the problem. Accessibility is the other half.

If your team speaks four languages and your survey only speaks one, the tool is affordable but it's not truly accessible. The feedback you collect will be skewed toward the people most comfortable in English — and those are often not the people whose perspectives you need most.

Multilingual surveys fix that. Not as a premium add-on. Not as an enterprise feature locked behind a higher tier. All 8 languages are on every plan, including the free one.

If you need a language we don't have yet

We're a small team and we launched with the languages our current users needed most. But we're building this for organizations that work globally, and globally means more than 8 languages.

If your team needs surveys in Arabic, Swahili, Vietnamese, Thai, Bahasa, Mandarin, or anything else — reach out. We'll work with you to add it. The whole point of Org360 is that the tools for understanding your organization should fit your organization, not the other way around.

Start at Org360.app — your first survey is free, in whatever language your team thinks in.
